Dear Members of the Prudence Crandall School Community,
On March 26, 2021, we were was notified that several students at Crandall have been exposed to a person who tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) at the Distance Learning Center (DLC). The last day this person was at the DLC was Wednesday, March 24, 2021. People who are direct contacts (within 6 feet for 15 minutes or more in a 24 hour period) need to quarantine according to the CDC guidelines. We have contacted every family involved at Crandall and they are all planning to quarantine their child. A special "Thank you" to all these families who dropped what they were doing to pick up their child(ren) quickly!
While we are getting closer to the end of tunnel for Covid we are not there yet! Please remain diligent (especially during Spring Break and Easter Weekend) so we can keep everyone in our community safe and keep our kids in school! Here are some reminders:
COVID-19 is spread mainly via person-to-person contact through contaminated air droplets from coughing and sneezing by an infected person. As with controlling the spread of other viruses, we urge everyone to discuss the following preventive measures with your children and family members:
Below is the list of COVID-19 symptoms for which everyone should monitor in their family members:
For additional information on COVID-19 symptoms, please see:
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html
Staff and students exhibiting any of the above symptoms or feeling ill should remain home, call their medical provider to report their symptoms, and ask about testing prior to seeking in-person care at a clinic, physician’s office, or hospital.
For more information on what to do if you or a family member has possible symptoms, a diagnosis, or exposure to COVID-19, please see Addendum 5: Interim Guidance for Responding to COVID-19 Scenarios in Connecticut School Districts, which is available here:
https://portal.ct.gov/SDE/COVID19/COVID-19-Resources-for-Families-and-Educators/Addendums-and-FAQs
We are closely monitoring this situation and working with The North Central District Health Department. We will provide you with updates as we know more. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or our amazing school nurse, Renata Fenoff at 860-253-6463.
Thank you - and stay well,
Russell Sills, Principal

Please make sure that all of your APPs (applications) & devices (iPads, laptops, etc.) used for distance learning are always #UpToDate
Similar to APP updates on your phones, the APPs we use for distance learning also require occasional updates. If you are not using the most #UpToDate versions of certain APPs, it can (on occasion) cause an issue with completing, or submitting, some schoolwork/assignments. *It's a good idea to check for updates regularly.

On Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 12:00 PM, Prudence Crandall PTO (CT0110P) will be helping St. Patrick's Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans by laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes. Each wreath is only $15.00 - and $5.00 of that remains with the PC PTO. Thank you for supporting the PC PTO (CT0110P) and Wreaths Across America!
